Volunteer Experience

I wrote and edited a weekly blog reviewing educational websites and online resources for TIE, an online Professional Learning Community of over 5000 members around the world.

I spent three weeks in Costa Rica working with orphaned and injured sloths. In addition to the hands-on volunteering, I also provided consulting and design services to improve their website and expand their online presence through the use of Web 2.0 tools like blogs. I continue to play an active role in supporting this great sanctuary.

Earlscourt (renamed the Child Development Institute in 2004) provides mental health services for children with aggressive behaviour. Highly diverse client base. Programmed activities and provided supervision for children involved in treatment and their siblings. Completed training sessions in behaviour management & triggers and timeouts.
